Share secured loans are essentially a way for you to borrow, using your own savings as the collateral. Instead of using all your savings to make a purchase, thus losing out on all future dividends and your emergency safety net, you’re borrowing against that sum while your money stays in your account. Each time you make a payment, a portion of the frozen funds will be released (e.g. – pay $40 on the loan, then $40 will be released in the savings account).
