While more and more Americans rely on credit cards as their primary method of payment, not all credit cards are created equal. Securing a credit card from a credit union can help you make the most of your money and personalize the credit options that work best for you.

Learn more below about the benefits of a credit card from Midwest Community Federal Credit Union, and stop by a local branch today to learn more.

Better Rates and Fewer Fees

Because credit unions operate as not-for-profit, member-owned financial institutions, our members can often get better rates and fewer fees than a credit card from a larger financial institution.

Credit unions aren’t focused on maximizing profits or rewarding shareholders. Instead, any profits earned are reinvested in members through better interest rates and fewer fees.

Help with Building Credit

A credit union credit card is a great way to build credit, whether for young people just starting their financial journey or individuals who want to rebuild their finances after overcoming earlier challenges. With fewer fees and better rates, a Midwest Community Federal Credit Union credit card can help people responsibly build credit while not having to worry about overly harsh penalties along the way.

Financial literacy is also a key part of any credit union’s mission, so Midwest Community Federal Credit Union has several members of our staff ready and willing to offer advice, resources, and tools for managing your credit card and making the most of your hard-earned money.

Keeping Your Money Local

As community-based financial institutions, credit unions keep members’ money based in the local communities we serve. We reinvest in small businesses, community programs, and financial literacy efforts. So rather than watching your money benefit out-of-state shareholders, you can keep it local by using a credit union credit card and benefit your local community every time you swipe.

Rewards and Benefits

While offering better rates and lower fees, a credit union credit card also offers competitive rewards and benefits that pay you back for the money you spend (check out our Visa Platinum Rewards card here). Choosing the right card for you can help you maximize your benefits while balancing the right rates for you and your financial needs.

As always, we encourage you to stop by a local branch of Midwest Community Federal Credit Union today to learn more!
